Episode 44 (some late things)

Wow, we actually recorded this like three months ago! Sorry it took me so long to get to it.

I honestly don't remember much at all what we talked about in this episode. I'll get reminded when I listen to it myself. :)

In the notes text file I saved, it mentions that we ALSO talked about alternators, phase converters, saline, guns, alternators again, broken vehicles, and actors. So, we talked about those things, and some other things as well.

One of the important things we mentioned is that we're going to be using Anchor to host the podcast files from now on (instead of Archive.org). I have no idea if you will need to update your subscription app or not, seeing that the Feedburner feed isn't really changing (or maybe it is, I don't know, we'll see). We have not used Anchor yet, as of this writing, so we'll find out shortly before you do. :)

Episode 43 - The Fleischman Interview

I finally finished editing Episode 43!

A special treat this time! We interview the owners of Idaho Magazine, Kitty and Gerry Fleischman. It was great to have them over. Buy their magazine and submit your Idaho-related stories and photos!

Episode 42 (catch up, random topics, UFO's, guns, feelings, running)

Hey! It took me way too long to upload this episode. Insert excuses here.

A little more than 20 minutes in, my microphone got dumb for 5 or 10 minutes. Screw two mics, I'm only using one from now on.

In this episode we talk a little about Mars, bigfoot, open-carrying guns, JoAnn Fabrics, taking apart my motorcycle, our feelings, running, and so on. We just kinda rambled I guess.

Please note that when I mentioned Hobbywhatever, I meant Craft Warehouse (in Boise).

Episode 41 (missed job opportunity, Bob Lazar, restaurants, and anxiety)

Greetings, programs!

Weird audio warning: Sometimes my computer gets dumb, and the audio gets weird momentarily. I think I know what's wrong with it.

Hey! It didn't take me a month to upload this episode! (close, but not quite)

In this episode we talk a little about a job opportunity that didn't come to fruition. Then we talk a LOT about a guy named Bob Lazar and his claims. Then we talk about other sundry things.

We appreciate you!

Episode 40 (movies, podcasts, travel)

Wow. That's embarrassing. It took me more than a month this time to get around to uploading this episode that we recorded in the middle of June. Sad.

At any rate, it's here now! In this episode, we talk about movies, podcasts, and travel. No more details than that, I'm afraid... it's been so long since we recorded this that I'm going to have to give the episode a listen just so I can be reminded of what we talked about. :)

Edit: I totally forgot to add in the audio of this youtube video.

Episode 39 (legislation follow-up, running, opening up about mental health)

Just a little warning: At about half an hour in, Daniel's mic died and John's mic started doing this weird little reverb thing. Then, just as we were about to imitate someone in a metal band known for being stingey, everything died. I think the whole USB bus fried, because it stopped recognizing the things plugged into it and restarting it didn't fix it. We had to just switch to a different computer and use a built-in recording program to finish up the episode.

We have a potential replacement computer, but it might take a little bit to implement it...

Anyway, in this episode we talked a little bit about what happened when the Idaho legislature finished up and went home. We also talk about a couple of movies, about running Robie, and we open up about mental health again. I don't remember what else we talked about. I'll listen to the whole episode after I publish this. :)

Episode 38 (nose, truck, funeral, bike, legislation)

Hey, it didn't take me a month this time to publish this! Yay!

Please be aware that a couple of spots in the audio sounds weird because we finally got back to using two microphones, but Linux delayed the audio from one of them by one millisecond, so you'll hear a tiny bit of reverb or something. It doesn't last the whole episode. I'll do it better next time. :)

In this episode, we talk a little about John breaking his nose, a truck, a funeral, a bike, and current Idaho legislation. Don't worry, we're sticking to our "no politics" policy... it's just that there are some interesting bills in the Idaho legislature that don't really have a political slant, so we thought it was safe enough for us to talk about. :)

Episode 37 (holidays, new year, expectations)

Funny thing... we recorded this back on January 22nd. Here it is, February 22nd and I'm just barely getting this episode published. Shameful. :)

In this episode, we talk a little bit about how we spent the holidays and the new year celebration, and what we expect or hope from 2019. Perhaps we should add "record more and publish sooner" to the list of new year's resolutions... :)

Episode 36 (passing away, skits, jinx)

Good day, eh? And welcome to our podcast episode 36. In this episode, we kinda started off talking about relatives or loved ones who have passed away. Then we started talking a little bit about running, about radio dramas, doing skits and role-play and such, and we talked about jinxing one's own plans.

Episode 35 (season 2?) (the guns episode)

It was about five months between recording! That seems a bit long. We just got busy with normal stuff in life.

This podcast episode was a redo. The live video we recorded for the facebook group failed to record the audio properly, so we redid the audio recording. We tried to say the same stuff, but there are slight differences between the facebook video and this audio.

In this episode we talk a lot about guns. We're Idahoans, so we like guns. We talk about what guns we have, why we like them, and where we got them from. It's about more than just putting holes in things!

Episode 34 (a few little topics)

We didn't give up! We just got busy.

Wait, no... we didn't get busy, like, you know... we WERE busy.

Anyway!...

In this episode, we discuss quite a few little topics that John wanted to bring up. And, half-way through, the Facebook live video stream had technical difficulties, and we had to restart it. Luckily for you podcast listeners, most of that is edited out of the audio. :)

Episode 33 (our first live Facebook video, about tachyons of all things)

This episode is our first one where we do a live Facebook video. Lucky for you, a lot of the dead air and visual comments (about a shirt or a hand gesture) were edited out for the audio. Trust me, you're getting the better product. :D

In this episode, Daniel goes on a long monolog about tachyons, redneck physics, and telepathy. Take a breath and get ready for it!

Episode 31 (predictions!, part 1)

Hey, esteemed listeners! This is another episode recorded on Daniel's phone (isn't OTG great?), but it's with the other mic, the one that doesn't sound like you're listening through a pillow. :)

This is part 1 of a more-than-one-part series of prediction episodes!

In this episode, we start trying our very hardest to make predictions for what 2018 has in store, without breaking our cardinal rule "No politics, no religion." We get uncomfortably close to almost talking politics and religion, yet we do a pretty good job of not quite "going there." If you think we got too close to the politicsreligion fire and you got your eye brows singed, let us know. :)

One final note: Daniel mistakenly guessed this was episode 32. It's only episode 31. Which is still not bad.

Episode 30 (the one recorded on Daniel's phone)

Greetings, again, listeners! Yeah, we know. It took us a very long time to finally upload this one. You know how it goes... sometimes life throws little things in your path, one after another, just to distract you. :)

This episode was recorded with one of our regular USB microphones plugged into Daniel's phone. It didn't turn out too horribly. Next time we'll use the other mic, it might sound better.

We talked about our run streaks this time. And old family traditions. And we reminisced a little.

Overall, a really low-key atmosphere for episode number thirty. You hear that?, episode number thirty!! Other podcasts die out after five or ten episodes, but not us! :D

It's been a long time since we last recorded! This time we talk mostly about John's trip to Oregon, and Daniel's eclipse campout.

In this episode, we joke a little about some things. Then we get serious and talk about people who refuse to even consider ideas that challenge their own established ones... like yeti with red-brown hair instead of white hair.

Hopefully, John's vacation goes well! Come back in one piece so we can do episode 28 when you get back. :)

Episode 26 (well.. Episode 25 part 2)

One quick note: Between the time that John drops his mic and the studio dog Bruno knocks some stuff off the table, John's mic cuts out. He sounds a little distant because it's just Daniel's mic picking him up about five feet away. Sorry. Daniel will duct-tape the mic connections next time. :)

This episode we continued our conversation that we started last episode (the long conversation that was lost when... well... you know... you've seen the Facebook post about how we lost that one episode).

We discuss things like post-apocalyptic society, musicians who don't look like what they sounds like, and things Daniel just can't go along with.

For those of you who saw the facebook post, you'll know that the last time we tried to record episode 25, it failed. This is our second attempt, and it worked! (mostly) We had to record in a different location, so it sounds a little different. But it's done, and we're running with it! ...Well... Part 1, anyway. :) We'll get part 2 recorded soon.

We also talk about larping.

Episode 24 (bucket lists)

Greetings, Listeners! In this episode, Daniel started out by talking about a good family reunion he had. And thennnnnnnnn...

Someone asked for it, so we delivered! This episode we talk a little bit about our respective bucket lists. We talked about the Ford '05 GT, a Camaro, visiting a haunted place, living in Oregon, having a quiet nature anti-civilization bubble space, working on the ocean, and learning German.

During that time, we also got distracted talking about the peeing scene in Get Smart, a "dolphipegasunicorn" drawing, the floppy disk drive save sound, Michael McDonald, meditating and basic training, and a little bit about our next episode.

If you have any complaints, suggestions, praise, or money, you can send it to us via email, facebook, or in person.

- a woman who sounds like she really likes listening to people talk Chinese to her
- squeezing satin (not a euphemism)
- some R movies
- some not-R movies
- some running of races
- and some new sponsors.
We also somehow manage to start talking about boobies here and there... not sure how...

Welcome, folks! We had a lot of fun recording this one. We talk about our favorite places in our house, our town, the Treasure Valley, and Idaho. We also tease about other states as well.

Below is some stuff that we talk about in the episode. If you have a favorite place, let us know! Email us, or comment on Facebook.

This is John's Hungry Ridge photo. Looks too good to be real.

Here is a view northward from Daniel's current favorite trail to hike; and the one ugly thing mentioned:

One correction, though. On Google Maps, the earliest imagery you can see it in is from 2013, not the 90's. :)

Here's Pacific City. Looks like a good place to visit.

Here is the rocky corridor from Daniel's second favorite hiking spot, with a view of the river behind you:

Here's Indian Creek ("Indian Ditch") running through Kuna. It's a relaxing place to visit.

Episode 15 (mom fans, running streaks, Phil Harris, and scary stuff)

First of all, a little correction: It was Little John, not the rooster, who used the voice of Phil Harris. Robin Hood (1973) also used a lot of animation straight from The Jungle Book (1967) as well. For example, Lady Kluck does the same exact dance moves as King Louie (with Little John/Baloo).

So, anyway, welcome to episode fifteen! Boldly hanging around on the side of the road, without any preset topics of discussion! Like champs!

Hey, it's that t###me again, k##ds!

I just want to apologize for the audio (as represented by the hash marks above). I thought I brought a better mic to the studio. After I took the recording home, I discovered that the mic we tried wasn't any better. In fact, it was worse. It made all the louder sounds sound crappy. Episode 5... is gonna be a couple more days. :(

Sometimes things happen. Shower faucets leak, causing shower floors and stalls to need to be replaced. Homework is due. Employer wants you to show up for work if they're gonna pay you. Gear shifters decide to not move out of "Park". You know, regular stuff.

Don't worry!

Episode 5 is all recorded. I just need to finish cleaning up the audio a little, and then I'll upload it. Until then, head over to Librivox and subscribe to a nice public-domain audio book. I recorded some stuff over there. They have some gems. :)
